Lasagne Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 (15 oz) container ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 12 lasagna noodles (cooked and drained)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the beef with onion and garlic. Drain fat.
  3. Add marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix ricotta, egg, and ¼ cup parmesan.
  5. Spread a thin layer of sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Layer noodles, ricotta mixture, meat sauce, and mozzarella. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
  7. Finish with a layer of sauce and cheese on top.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes until bubbly.
  9. Let rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
